Nearly 3,000 people attend opposition action in St. Petersburg - Interior Ministry

ST. PETERSBURG. March 26 (Interfax) - About 3,000 people attended an opposition action unauthorized by the St. Petersburg authorities, the press service of the Interior Ministry main directorate's department for St. Petersburg and the Leningrad region told Interfax on Sunday.

"Roughly 3,000 people attended the action. Administrative protocols have been compiled regarding four of them," a press officer said.

Participants of the action gathered at about 2 p.m. on Marsovo Polye (Field of Mars) and after the action held there they have marched towards Dvortsovaya (Palace) Square.

After Dvortsovaya Square the activists have proceeded to Nevsky Avenue.

Police were controlling the action at all its stages.
