UKRAINE-CEC-CANDIDATES-REGISTRATION
Kyiv, August 6 (Interfax-Ukraine) – The Central Election Commission (CEC) has registered an additional 227 candidates for majority constituencies, including 183 independent candidates and 44 candidates from parties.
The CEC approved this decision at a meeting on Monday.
In particular, Head of the Supervisory Board of the Bank for Investments and Savings Ihor Yeremeyev was registered for constituency No. 23 in Volyn region, President of the Association of International Automobile Carriers of Ukraine Leonid Kostiuchenko – in constituency No. 24 in Dnipropetrovsk region, and former Prosecutor General of Ukraine and currently people’s deputy of Ukraine Sviatoslav Piskun – in constituency No. 63 in Zhytomyr region.
Independent candidate Serhiy Mischenko was registered in constituency No. 98 in Kyiv region, member of the Our Ukraine-People’s Self-Defense parliamentary faction Taras Stetskiv – in constituency No. 117 in Lviv region, Head of the Rodina Party Ihor Markov – in constituency No. 133 in Odesa region, former Energy Minister Ivan Plachkov – in constituency No. 142 in Odesa region, member of the BYT-Batkivschyna parliamentary faction Kostiantyn Zhevaho – in constituency No. 150 in Poltava region, former Head of Ternopil Regional State Administration Yuriy Chyzhmar – in constituency No. 167 in Ternopil region, astronaut Leonid Kadeniuk – in constituency No. 204 in Chernivtsi region, and member of the Svoboda All-Ukrainian Union Oleksandr Sych – in constituency No. 83 in Ivano-Frankivsk region.
Lawyer Tetiana Montian and independent MP Taras Chornovil will run for the elections in constituency No. 212 in Kyiv. Former secretary of Kyiv City Council Oles Doniy was registered in constituency No. 214 and incumbent secretary of Kyiv City Council Halyna Hereha – in constituency No. 215 in Kyiv.
The CEC also registered MP from the Batkivschyna United Opposition Ruslan Kniazevych and deputy of Kyiv City Council from the UDAR Party Valeriy Karpuntsov as non-voting members of the election commission.
Thus, as of Monday, the CEC has registered 779 candidates for majority constituencies, including 377 independent candidates and 402 candidates from parties.
In addition, the CEC has registered the party ticket of the Communist Party of Ukraine, which includes 214 candidates.
