Foreign fans little interested in Kyiv’s historical monuments and museums

UKRAINE-KYIV-FANS-MUSEUMS

Kyiv, June 14 (Interfax-Ukraine) – Foreign fans have little interest in the historical monuments and museums of Kyiv, the head of the city’s main department of public utilities, Dmytro Novitsky, has said.

“As of today, to be honest, they have shown little interest [in them]. But there is information like this: Swedes often order a lot of trips along the Dnipro and visit the Chornobyl Museum,” he said at a press conference at the Kyiv media center on Thursday.

Novitsky noted that demand for visits to the Chornobyl National Museum had increased since the start of Euro 2012 and the arrival of a large number of fans in the city.

He said that foreigners mainly visit the city’s “central, major museums,” in particular, the National Museum of Russian Art and Kyiv Museum of Western and Oriental Art.
