Gazprom’s Miller, Ukraine’s Boiko discuss gas pumping

RUSSIA-UKRAINE-GAZPROM-TALKS

Moscow, July 2 (Interfax) – Gazprom’s CEO Alexei Miller and Ukrainian Energy and Coal Industry Minister Yuriy Boiko met on Monday to discuss the pumping of gas into Ukraine’s underground storage facilities by Naftogaz Ukrainy and further cooperation.

Emphasis was on pumping speed, Gazprom reports.

“The supply of the necessary gas volume to Ukrainian underground storage facilities is crucial for Naftogaz to be able to meet its transit obligations during the upcoming autumn-winter season,” Gazprom said.

In June 2012, Gazprom paid Naftogaz $2 billion in advance payments for gas transit to provide it with operating assets for filling its underground facilities with gas.
