UKRAINE-SPECIALISTS-MODERNIZATION
Kyiv, June 28 (Interfax-Ukraine) – Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine Andriy Kliuyev has stated that the success of Ukraine’s modernization and hence the rate of improving living standards significantly depends on the human capacity of the Ukrainian industry.
According to the press service of the council, Kliuyev said this, while commenting on the record high order for technical professions in Ukrainian higher education institutions for all the years of the country’s independence.
“It’s a pity that Ukraine for the years of independence has allowed a huge imbalance in the education system. Universities had been graduating lawyers, economists and managers for many years, but the priority economy sectors receive much less young professionals,” said Kliuyev.
According to him, in 2010 some 28,000 economists, 8,000 managers and less than 1,100 specialists for the construction industry and less than 350 electronics specialists were trained.
