Kyiv, July 6 (Interfax-Ukraine) – The head of the Council of the Batkivschyna’s United Opposition and leader of the Front for Change party, Arseniy Yatseniuk, has said that the opposition is launching a new nationwide campaign dubbed “Ukraine Against Yanukovych.”

“We announce the launch of the nationwide campaign ‘Ukraine Against Yanukovych.’ The aim of this action is to call early parliamentary and presidential elections,” Yatseniuk said, speaking at a rally outside the Ukrainian House on Friday.

He also said that the assembly point for protesters would be the Ukrainian House.

Yatseniuk also said that should the authorities, in particular Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovych, violate the Constitution once again, participants in the campaign will move to Mezhyhirya, Yanukovych’s residence outside Kyiv.

Vice Speaker of the Verkhovna Rada Mykola Tomenko, in turn, said that that the rally outside the Ukrainian House should turn into hundreds of such rallies all over Ukraine.

“The Maidan (Square) near the Ukrainian House must sprawl into a hundred maidans across Ukraine,” Tomenko said.

“The organized criminal group in Verkhovna Rada, led by Adam Martyniuk” must be prosecuted, he said.

On July 10, the BYT-Batkivschyna faction is planning to attend Kharkiv court hearings in the UESU Corporation case against Batkivschyna leader Yulia Tymoshenko, Tomenko also said during his speech.

Leader of the Svoboda all-Ukrainian Union Oleh Tiahnybok stressed the importance of the fact that representatives of various political opposition forces demonstrated their ability to work together.

“Representatives from opposition parties managed not just to sit down at the negotiating table and sign some documents. This is concrete proof for us and the Ukrainian people that we can make important decisions and jointly materialize them,” Tiahnybok said.

“Today we have achieved what could be achieved at this stage that this criminal law was not signed,” member of the Our Ukraine-People’s Self-Defense and leader of the party For Ukraine Party Vyacheslav Kyrylenko said.

At the end of the meeting MP Oles Doniy of the Our Ukraine-People’s Self-Defense thanked all those who came to express their disagreement with the actions of the parliament.

MP Yuriy Hrymchak of the Our Ukraine-People’s Self-Defense faction confirmed to journalists that the rally outside the Ukrainian House, which started on July 3 immediately after the language law was passed, comes to an end.

A resolution was passed at the rally, consisting of one phrase: “We are beginning a protest, Ukraine Against Yanukovych,” an Interfax-Ukraine correspondent said.
