Almaty, January 29 (Interfax) – Bad weather is the most likely cause of the CRJ-200 passenger plane crash near Almaty, an official has said.
“An investigative team is working at the crash site. Literally all possible theories are being considered, including bad weather among the most likely ones,” Sabit Bitayev, the chief of the Almaty Emergency Situations Department, said on 24 KZ television channel at the crash site.
SCAT flight DV760 from Kokshetau to Almaty hit the ground while making a second approach to the Almaty Airport runway in bad weather on Tuesday. Experts said the Challenger-200 fell about 1.5 kilometers short of the runway.
