Kyiv, August 22 (Interfax-Ukraine) – Ukrainian Energy and Coal Industry Minister Yuriy Boiko and Gazprom CEO Alexei Miller have discussed preparations for work in the 2012/2013 fall and winter period, the Ukrainian ministry said in a press release.
At a meeting on August 22 in Moscow, Boiko and Miller also discussed providing for gas transit to Europe through the Ukrainian gas transportation system, it said.
In June, Gazprom issued Ukraine’s national oil and gas company Naftogaz Ukrainy an advance payment of $2 billion for gas transit to provide the company with floating capital to pump gas into underground storage facilities.
As of August 20, Ukraine had accumulated 16.4 billion cubic meters of gas in its underground storage facilities.
