RUSSIA-GAZPROM
Moscow, January 29 (Interfax) – Russian gas giant Gazprom, having established control over the Belarusian gas-transport system, intends to triple underground storage capacity in the republic by 2030, an informational memorandum for Gazprom’s latest Eurobond issue says.
“Our subsidiary company Beltransgaz manages the Osipovich, Priburg, and Mozyr underground storage facilities in Belarus with aggregate storage volume of 960 million cubic meters. In order to smooth out seasonal fluctuations in demand for gas and avoid delivery interruptions in peak periods of the heating season, we plan to expand the system of underground storage facilities in Belarus, increasing combined capacity to 1.6 billion cubic meters by 2020 and to 2.6-3 billion cubic meters by 2030, and to increase aggregate peak productivity to 43 million cubic meters per day by 2020 and 60 million cubic meters per day by 2030,” the memorandum says.
