Kremenchuk, November 12 (Ukraine General News) – Newly elected Kremenchuk Mayor Oleh Babayev has left the Batkivschyna All-Ukrainian Association.

“I am sure that the mayor is a business manager … [the mayor] has to work for the welfare of the city regardless of party affiliation. [The mayor is] the person that has to work for all Kremenchuk residents and in no circumstances to divide anybody in terms of their party affiliation. I leave the Batkivschyna Party and give up the authorities of head of the Batkivschyna Party’s city organization,” he said at a first meeting of the city council of the new convocation on Friday.

Babayev is the owner of a 15.18% stake in OJSC Kremenchukmiaso, one of the leading meat processing enterprises in Ukraine.
