Kyiv might challenge gas deals with Russia in court, but prefers seeking compromise

UKRAINE-MINISTER-RUSSIA-GAS

Kyiv, December 17 (Ukraine News) – There is an option of appealing against the gas supply agreements with Russia in court, but Ukraine prefers to seek an understanding with Russia through the talks and reach mutually beneficial agreements, Ukrainian Foreign Minister Kostiantyn Hryschenko has said.

“Perhaps, it would be an illusion to say that it would be easy to get a solution through the court, though this option always exists, if nothing else because litigations take many years, and we need to settle this issue now and we need mutual understanding, which would meet interests of both Russia and Ukraine,” the minister said on Inter TV Channel on Friday evening.
