Medvedev instructs secretariat to draft directives on international financial center’s location

St. Petersburg, June 18 (Ukraine General News) – Russian President Dmitry Medvedev has instructed his secretariat to draft directives to the government, the Moscow mayor, and the Moscow region governor on housing an international financial center in the city.

German Gref, the president of Sberbank and a member of an international advisory board on setting up an international financial center in Russia, asked the president to order that “an international financial center be located outside of the ring [the Moscow Ring Road, or MKAD].

“Okay, I will give such an instruction. I am addressing the secretariat: draw up an instruction to the government, the Moscow mayor and the governor of the Moscow region,” Medvedev said at a meeting with members of the advisory board on setting up an international financial center in Russia on Saturday.
