Volyn governor Klymchuk to run for parliament as self-nominee
Kyiv, August 18 (Interfax-Ukraine) – Ukraine’s Central Election Commission has registered Head of Volyn Regional State Administration Borys Klymchuk and MP Volodymyr Zubyk of the Party of Regions as self-nominated candidates in single-member constituencies in the Verkhovna Rada elections.
The decision was taken unanimously at the commission’s meeting on Friday.
Klymchuk will run in constituency No. 22 (Volyn region), and Zubyk in constituency No. 195 (Cherkasy region).
The CEC registered a total of 58 self-nominees in single-member constituencies on Friday.
In addition, the CEC registered nine candidates in single-member constituencies from the Russian Bloc, seven candidates from the Ridna Vitchizna (Our Motherland) Party, five from the Ukrainian National Assembly and a candidate from the Christian Movement Party and one from the Block Party.
