Ukraine’s central bank, Chinese businessmen discuss investment in Ukraine’s banking sector

Kyiv, November 16 (Interfax-Ukraine) – Governor of the National Bank of Ukraine (NBU) Serhiy Arbuzov and some Ukrainian ministers have met with a delegation of Chinese businessmen to discuss the possibility of Chinese investment in Ukraine’s banking sector, according to a posting on the NBU’s Web site.

“In particular, the sides discussed the creation in Ukraine of a bank with Chinese investment and the expansion of cooperation with Chinese banks,” reads the posting.

According to the NBU, the main purpose of the meeting with the delegation of investors and businessmen from Macau and Hong Kong, led by Macau businessman David Chow Kam Fai, was to discuss new joint investment projects, including those in agriculture, mineral production and the construction of infrastructure facilities.
